Who is Papa Emeritus III?
Papa Emeritus III, also refered to as "Terzo"... there's so much for me to say about him. Massive shout out to my friend Radley for spreading the brain rot. Terzo became Papa after Seconodo was fired. They needed someone younger, and more dedicated... Like Terzo! He is three months younger than Secondo. Again, I wasn't really here when he was around... which is a huge shame. I'm obssessed with him. But I'm not weird about it, ok? I love all of the Papas. But this guy... he's special. He was the first Papa to ditch the chausible and funny hat! So he got to be a bit more silly and expressive on stage. I think part of his popularity is due to him being the first Papa to have a bit more... accessible content. Things were really picking up! And then they yanked him off stage and killed him, so. Real Martyr material right here.
Meliora... some people say it's overrated, but it's a great if you ask me. I think it really signaled Ghost branching off towards new sounds and style. While I like and kinda miss some of the older styling, Meliora really just brings something great to the table. I have spent a lot of time analyzing these songs- more than I should, really, but they're just so neat!! One song from the album, Cirice, actually won a grammy! A lot of people will say that's the best Ghost song, but I disagree. It's good! But not a favorite... It's better live, in my opinion. Some of my favorite songs from this album are Deus in Absentia, Spirit, and Mummy Dust. A lot of Meliora songs still show up on tours, like Mummy Dust, Cirice, Absolution, He Is...All of these songs were featured in Rite Here Rite now as well. But they played From the Pinnacle to the Pit at my first concert! It was great. Terzo also has an live album and an EP associated with him, but I'll touch on those on a different page.
Just like the last two, Papa Emeritus III was assassinated while playing Uno with his brothers. We also see a version of his mask without the skull paint, and I think a lot of people really hated how that looked. Terzo's face paint actually does a really good job of concealing his actual face shape, which fascinates me. Some fun facts about him: he did an accoustic tour, he would sometimes play the kazoo instead of singing, he was described as a self loathing recluse, and he fell down, like, a lot.
